Our story

Who We Are

By Yostina & Fady, The Travel Whisperer Co. ยท

We're Yostina and Fady โ€” a couple bound together by a love of exploration and adventure. Travel has always been part of our lives; growing up, both of us were fortunate to have families who shared a passion for discovering new places. But it wasn't until we got married that travel truly became a central part of our life together. Since then, we've made it a priority to travel [2-3 times a year โ€” update if this has changed], creating memories that have shaped the way we see the world.

We're drawn to the places that don't make the "top 10" lists โ€” the quiet beaches, the untouched mountain trails, the little-known towns with stories to tell. Over the years we've been fortunate to visit some genuinely special corners of the world, and the discoveries that stuck with us most weren't the famous landmarks โ€” they were the secluded cafรฉ we stumbled into, the hike to a waterfall nobody mentioned, the sunset we almost missed. Travel, for us, has always been as much about the journey as the destination.

Every adventure is a chance to grow and see the world from a new perspective โ€” and that's what keeps us going back for more.

From a blog about hidden gems to WanderPlan

The Travel Whisperer started as exactly that: a place to share what we'd found โ€” destination stories, hidden-gem recommendations, the practical stuff about traveling well and sustainably. We wanted other travelers to feel the same pull we do toward the places off the beaten path.

But somewhere along the way, we ran into the same problem on every trip: the planning itself was a mess. Spreadsheets that didn't sync between our phones. Notes apps full of half-finished itineraries. A group chat buried in receipts nobody could make sense of by the time we actually needed to settle up. [Add the specific moment this became a real problem โ€” a trip where the planning fell apart, a missed booking, a "we have to fix this" moment].

So we built the tool we wished we'd had โ€” first for ourselves, then for the destinations we knew best. That's WanderPlan, and that's why our destination guides exist: not generic listicles, but the actual routes, hidden gems, and day-by-day plans we'd hand a friend before their trip.

What we're building toward

Our goal hasn't changed since the very first post on the old blog: inspire people to travel a little differently. Not just the well-known sites, but the places that make a trip feel like it was actually yours. WanderPlan and our destination guides are how we try to make that easier โ€” less time untangling logistics, more time finding the places [add a specific "hidden gem" moment or place you're proud of discovering].

If you're planning your next trip, we'd love for it to be one of the good ones โ€” the kind with a story at the end of it, not just a receipt.

Anything highlighted like this is a placeholder โ€” swap it for the real specifics (the moment the planning problem became obvious, a favorite hidden-gem discovery, updated trip frequency) and delete this note before publishing.
